What makes the Silver Tassie unique from the others?

The Silver Tassie team have been planning dream weddings for generations & with their “nothing’s a bother” attitude you are most definitely in good hands. Our attention to detail, always coming up with new ideas and treating each couple like a member of our family who is getting married is what sets us apart from the rest. It’s the personal touch that makes us unique. We are with you through the whole experience; from the minute you make your initial enquiry right up until you are leaving the hotel the day after your wedding. We are with you through all the planning & preparations to ensure everything runs like clockwork. We are here on the day of the wedding for your big arrival and right through your meal, cutting the cake, your first dance (Even sometimes getting people to bed!)

What class of weddings does your venue accommodate?

We don’t believe in catering for any certain class of wedding. As every wedding is different, we want the couple’s individual personality and tastes to shine through. From the very first consultation we sit down with each couple and see what they want for their special day, coming up with ideas for them and ways to make that possible. For every couple this is the biggest day of their lives and our number one priority is to ensure it will be a day that they, and their guests will always remember for the rest of their life’s.

Couples want the wedding of their dreams! How does your venue assure this?

Our main priority is to make every couple’s dream possible by carefully listening to what each couple wants and evolving and coming up with new ideas on a regular basis. We have adopted the family-run hotel values of Silver Tassie Hotel owners Ciaran and Rose Blaney, which enhances the service and care that we give each couple. We treat every couple as our family. We have such a good relationship with every couple the whole way up from when they book their wedding right through to the day of the wedding itself. The Silver Tassie Hotel helps to achieve this by appointing their wedding coordinator to every wedding couple who gives them personal one to one attention in the months leading up to their wedding and most importantly their big day.

What tips would you contribute to the couples who are planning a stress-free wedding day?

Enjoy every minute of it and listen to your suppliers and especially your personalized Wedding Coordinator. Most suppliers have been doing weddings for years. Listen to their advice as any good supplier will look at what a couple wants and try their best to make that happen for them. Listen to their guidance and enjoy the whole experience. Your wedding day is only as stressful as what you make it to be yourself. The most important thing for couples to remember is that your wedding day is your partner, the person you will say “I Do” to, so enjoy every moment of it with them and look forward to spending the rest of your life with them as the day of the wedding will fly by.

What is the most epic request you have honoured to date?

It would be very hard to pinpoint just one as there have been so many requests we have honoured to date. However, one request that always comes to mind was when a groom wanted to give his bride a surprise present during the speeches. This was no normal surprise. Both the bride and groom were from farming backgrounds and the bride always said since she was younger that she always wanted a Valais Blacknose Lamb. Now I hadn’t a clue what it was but it’s apparently a special breed of sheep. The week before the wedding the groom came to me with the request and he wanted to keep it a surprise for both the bride and all the guests. We arranged to have someone look after the Valais Blacknose Lamb during the wedding and then one of the guests brought it out during the speeches for the groom to give it to the bride.

A huge thank you to Georgina at The Silver Tassie for taking the time out of her busy schedule to complete the questions. If you would like to find out more about The Silver Tassie, Click here.
