The Guildhall is where dreams come true, celebrated for its historic charm and breathtaking architecture. It offers three unique spaces: the expansive Main Hall, accommodating up to 400 guests; the Whittaker Suite, ideal for smaller ceremonies of up to 50 guests; and the quaint Ceremonial Room, perfect for intimate weddings beneath a stunning stained-glass window. The grandeur of the Main Hall, with its stained-glass windows and majestic organ, adds a special touch to any wedding. Additionally, the magnificent staircase, balcony overlooking the River Foyle and Peace Bridge, and the beautiful squares at each entrance (Harbour Square on the riverfront and Guildhall Square surrounded by historic city walls) make the Guildhall truly exceptional.

When choosing a wedding venue, think about the magic of your special day. Ensure the venue can comfortably embrace all your loved ones, fitting your guest list perfectly. Consider your budget and what is included, so you can focus on the joy of the moment without financial stress. Choose a venue that resonates with your wedding vision, creating a backdrop that feels like a dream come true. Have a backup plan for outdoor weddings to keep the celebration seamless, no matter the weather. What is the most epic request you have honoured to date?

One of the most memorable requests we honoured was transforming the Main Hall into a winter wonderland, complete with intricate ice sculptures, snow machines, and a stunning light display. Another remarkable event involved an American couple who fell in love with the Guildhall during a visit and decided to move their entire wedding ceremony across the Atlantic to Derry. We’ve also hosted themed weddings, such as a vintage-inspired celebration with period costumes and decor, and a vibrant, colourful festival-style wedding with live music.
